The total number of defects counted on the population in question divided by the total population count.
Use Case / Interpretation
Defects are parts that do not conform to specifications as discovered by the end user. The objective is to first minimize post-delivery and in-plant defects. This ratio is a measure of defects produced. This measurement considers the various components manufactured by the facility.
