Machine Stand Alone Availability
Definition
Machine stand-alone availability (MSA) is a measure e scheduled production time the resource is able to operate. MSA is an evaluation of a maintenance department's effectiveness. In a progressive planned-maintenance environment, MSA will be close to one because planned maintenance activities will be performed when the resource is not scheduled for production, thus the resource will not fail during production.
