Size of safety stock. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safety_stock">Safety stock</a> is a term used to describe a level of stock that is maintained below the cycle stock to buffer against stock-outs. Safety Stock or Buffer Stock exists to counter uncertainties in supply and demand.
